In the ninth edition of Kendall Solves It, we confront another operational issue. In a world that makes it look so easy to look like you have it all together, wouldn't it

be nice to have operations together?

Community Question: How do I get good at operations?

Kendall's Insightful Steps and Analysis: Before tacking this layered question, I'd like to say this Reddit poster and I could probably have loads to talk about. I'm an operations person, not marketing, but I digress. Let's get into this.

  • Know the why, how, and what

  • Learn everything your firm does

  • Determine how this relates to the mission and makes money

  • Test the foundation

  • Fill gaps

  • Set SMART Goals and KPIs

  • Check in and evaluate regularly

  • Refine them as the firm evolves

The truth is that there is no perfect formula because every business is different. People who fuel business operate differently, but the key is documentation and follow-through. Systems and processes are only as good as implementation.

Do we pivot when the data informs us a change is needed? Do we draft processes based on how we want things done? Does what costs most of our time make money? Does how we make money align with what we say we do? We must ask and answer all of these are questions in operations.

Community-driven solutions are so important to us. My team is committed to addressing real-world problems that impact business operations.

For tailored solutions, consider scheduling an introductory call. We are happy to develop processes and systems for your business.

Cheers,

K.T. Braxton, MBA
